THE STORY . . .
Team Type 1, Rotarian Action Group for Diabetes, and TMH Foundation will join together on Nov. 14, 2010, on World Diabetes Day, with you, to raise funds to provide education, insulin (needed to live), test strips and other diabetic supplies for children with diabetes in Tallahassee, Florida area and Rwanda. Why Rwanda? Team Type 1 is racing in the Tour of Rwanda stage race in November and delivering insulin and diabetic supplies to the diabetes center in Rwanda. Rotarian Action Group will sustain this effort with our donations.
Team Type 1 will field six professional cyclists, all with type 1 diabetes in the Tour of Rwanda on November 15th for a nine-day stage race. Team Type 1, in conjunction with the International Diabetes Federation and many diabetes suppliers will also provide hundreds of children in Rwanda with life saving diabetes medication and supplies. The Type 1 cyclist racing in Rwanda are:

Olaf Kerkof: Netherlands Type 1
Martyn Vershoor: Netherlands Type 1
Proceeds will be split between Tallahassee Memorial Diabetes Center designated for camp scholarships for children through TMH Diabetes Center and the Rotarian Action Group for Diabetes to provide insulin and diabetic supplies with Team Type 1 to the Diabetes center in Rwanda.
